She remembers leafing through Better Homes & Gardens and drawing out floor plans on grid paper as a child, more interested in furniture than fairy tales. She went on to study Art History and Architectural History at the University of Virginia, before launching a career that includes marketing and branding, design, travel, and lifestyle writing, interior styling, and decorating. Why the name Hill & Hampton? Heather splits her time between the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC and Locust Hill, VA, and her cat is named Hampden (though Hampton is easier to spell!).
