About Hill & Hampton

Design was always Hill & Hampton founder Heather Bien's first love. She remembers leafing through Better Homes & Gardens and drawing out floor plans on grid paper as a child, more interested in furniture than fairy tales. She went on to study Art History and Architectural History at the University of Virginia, before launching a career that includes marketing and branding, design, travel, and lifestyle writing, interior styling, and decorating.

In 2021, she opened her home, Rosehill Cottage, to others as a vacation rental, and fell in love with the intersection of design, branding, and hospitality. Now, she's launched Hill & Hampton to work with those who appreciate collected, welcoming spaces both in their own homes, as well as in vacation rentals and hospitality spaces.

Why the name Hill & Hampton? Heather splits her time between the Capitol Hill neighborhood of Washington, DC and Locust Hill, VA, and her cat is named Hampton. Hence, a name was born.
